The Clog Market at Rawtenstall Market.

The one year pilot project between Rossendale Borough Council and The Clog Market has been a huge success. It’s now completed and, following the current tender process, we will be looking forward to a new management team taking over, with a longer term vision and business plan for Rawtenstall market.

In just 12 months the market has been revived. We have regenerated a tired and dated marketplace, increased the revenue generated, the number of permanent traders, the number of casual traders, the food and drink on offer, occupied all outside cabins, refurbished the market hall stalls and some of the outside cabins, created a seating area in the market hall, created a play area for children, created a parents comfort room, refurbished the disabled toilets making the whole marketplace more accessible and inclusive, celebrated and suported our local communities, increased the footfall and the number of events. We have reduced costs and improved relations with our community. We have acheieved all of this despite the covid-19 pandemic and made an end of year profit!

We now have strong business foundations for a superb, vibrant, town market. The market has been given so much support, encouragement and love from the people of Rossendale and beyond.

As the past year has been so busy, full on and without a break The Clog Market will be taking a break but you can contact them at
